Categories of Members

The Association shall have the following categories of Members and eligibility criteria:

Membership Eligibility

Person having:

  • Master's Degree in Psychology / Medicine / Medical Anthropology / Medical Sociology
  • Experience in research in the field of Health Psychology
  • Publication of at least two research papers/reports in the field of Health Psychology in peer-reviewed journals
  • Teaching Health Psychology at the undergraduate and Postgraduate levels
  • Any official in a government, Quasi-government, or other organization recognized by the Executive Committee, and engaged in research or practice in the field of Psychology, including a medical doctor, nurse, medical administrator, auxiliary, or health worker
Life Member Eligibility

Faculty members of UGC-recognized Universities and Colleges, as well as scientists in recognized Research Organisations working in the field of psychology who meet the minimum criteria mentioned under 'Member', are eligible to apply.

Student Member Eligibility
  • Registered as regular students in UGC-recognized universities and colleges, pursuing a diploma/degree course in Postgraduate Studies in Psychology
  • A student of Psychology, Medicine, Nursing, or Social Work in a College, University or other academic institution recognized by the Executive Committee, and pursuing a course of study in Psychology
Fellow Member Eligibility
  • Eminent Scholars who have made valuable contributions towards promotion of health (physical, mental, social, and spiritual) and will strive to help the Association in the pursuit of its aims and objectives
  • Any person who has been a member of the Faculty of Psychology in a University or College or other institution as may be approved by the Executive Committee
  • Shall be eligible to become a Member of the Association subject to his/her membership being accepted by the Executive Committee, as detailed in these Rules
  • For the removal of doubts, it is hereby clarified that any person who has retired from service and was eligible for membership during their tenure may apply for membership even after retirement. If already a member, they can continue their membership even after retirement
